Travelers Checks

Although I am finding the need to have travelers checks to be less-and-less as virtually all countries now have ATM/cash machines, I think it’s still a good idea to have a couple of them tucked away somewhere. American Express is the preferred brand of travelers check in most countries. American Express has offices in many countries to cash your checks, there are also money changers, banks and of course the "black market" which often has good rates on them. But beware and consult your travel guide for advice.
