Jerash

The (Neolithic-3rd Century) ruins at Jerash are one of Jordan’s most excellent attractions. Jerash is also one of the best examples in the Middle East of a Roman provincial city, and is remarkably well preserved. Having visited Jerash twice now, I can say that it is an all day trek. (Wear good shoes.)
